Cochrane is approximately 20 km west of Calgary with the Bow River snaking its way through the second largest town in Alberta.
Entering Cochrane is impressive as one makes their way down the towering hill overlooking the town.
The Rockies are clearly in sight and within a forty minute drive eg Canmore.
On a recent walk along the Bow River, I noticed many varieties of wildflowers in the fields and clinging to the hillsides. The paved path is used by walkers and cyclists alike and has become more popular as this town continues to expand rapidly. Currently, the population is around 26 000 and growing.
